Regulation of Gene Expression via the Core Promoter
The regulation of gene transcription is critical for the proper development and growth of an organism.
Our focus is on the unique contribution of the core promoter to transcriptional regulation of gene networks. The core promoter is the ultimate target sequence of a multitude of factors that control the initiation of transcription.
We combine methodologies of molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, bioinformatics and developmental biology to study the molecular basis underlying the regulation of genes involved in embryonic development.
